北原白秋まざあぐうす
マザーグースを日本に始めて紹介してくれたのは、詩人で童謡作家であったの北原白秋です。彼は1918年から雑誌「赤い鳥」の童謡面を担当して、以後、日本の創作童話の新分野を開拓していきました。初版本は「赤い鳥」などに発表した翻訳をまとめて「まざあぐうす」としてアルス社から1925（大正14）年に発行されました。
こちらの和訳は「青空文庫」より使わせていただきました。
